Family CampFCF Family Camp
Family camp is a great camp for all family and friends to come and enjoy each other, make new friends, visit with old friends and enjoy the frontier life style. I have heard many times this is the best camp of the year. It is designed for all age groups. It is really laid back and FUN. We have games for everyone. We will have Hawk and Knife Throws, Black Powder, Archery, Spear, Marbles, Pan Toss, Etc.. We will have a Pot Luck on Saturday night to enjoy all different types of fellowship and food. This camp starts on Friday night and runs thru Monday, which is over Labor Day weekend. At family camp you my come and camp in whatever form of camping you wish. You can camp frontier style, canvas tent style or RV. Whatever you have to camp in bring it and enjoy. We have made the pricing to accommodate for large and small families. We will have Friday night and Saturday night services as well as a Sunday morning service.
Fall TraceFall Trace
What is a Trace? A Trace is a FCF event that combines advancements and competitions. Fall Trace usually takes place the last weekend in September and is Friday evening through Sunday morning. This event is the last event of the year to camp unless you camp at a non-FCF event. Fall Trace is a time where Frontiersmen whom have passed all criteria to become a buckskin are on to Buckskin level in a FCF camp fire ceremony. Fall Trace is also a time for new frontier members to go through the gift blanket. The gift blanket is a table of items that other members donate items to help the newer member build a lifestyle in frontier life with items like cook ware, clothing, materials, etc... For new frontiersmen this is a one time only offering of the gift blanket. Dont miss it. All members compete in frontier skills to show proficiency in frontier living skills. Come and enjoy!
Advancement Weekend/JFCAdvancement Weekend/JFC
Advancement Weekend/ JFC what is that? It sounds like JFC. Has it changed and what is it? JFC was the camp that allowed non-FCF members to join FCF as well as giving the boys one more camp to achieve their sabor. This camp is always held the frist weekend of May. It is held at Camp Wilderness. It is open to all boys and men that wish to join FCF. This camp teaches you the basics of frontier living. It starts Friday morning and runs until Sunday afternoon. Lodging is provided. It is a full weekend. In the past years we looked at this camp and saw many boys and men come through and never return. We believe in part it was that there were a couple of thing that happened that were not accounted for. We went through and identified these areas and they are: 1) FCF Advancements 2) I dont know what is next. 3) This is JFC, an Academy Camp, so it is only for the boys. 4) It is a bunch of guys running around the woods acting dumb. 5) FCF is an old man's club. FCF like discovery, adventure and expidition rangers there are levels. We want to provide a training camp that helps all members advance in FCF and build their skills, which can and are many times used on the mission field. FCF exposes boys and men to the historical life our counrty was built on. It removes the technolgy factor from our lives for a few days and allows us to see what god made for us and draws us close to him. This camp is still a stepping stone for the a boys recieving their Sabor for the Academy. We do live in the woods and learn skills that the frontiersmen would have learned to survive. It isnt and mens club. It is designed for both boys and men to enhance their outdoor camping skills beyond modern camp. As men we are there to mentor these boys in daily living and spirtual life. If you are thinking of joining come on down. If you are and old timer that has not been active for awhile come and advance your skills. Teach what you know, Learn what you dont. This is a camp to either TEACH or LEARN. Not to just to come and camp.
